An extra note:
The above pic is just me in my room (New Year's Day, 2004) trying to fling my hand back. I have no wrist or finger control, but tilting back in my chair helps lift my arm up that high (otherwise I'll never have that much strength or control). The only use of this bit of bicep movement for me has been to help hold open books when I lay my reading tray across my armrests. It comes quite in handy with school. =)
And for a last note about therapy, I just want everyone to know that my personal happiness is really not dependent on my regaining movement. If it happens, it happens. If not, I'm still completely content & just grateful to be alive. It's not that I've given up... it's just useless to obsess over this for me. Sorry if this lets anyone down...
